1) The Hood

Keep your head above water by keeping it dry! Or something like that. If you refuse to bring a reliable umbrella, then keep protected by choosing to wear hooded coats and capes.

Meanwhile, the camel-colored Zara coat styled by FashionAddicted  makes for a modern and urban rain wear. And the oversized hood is always a win. 2) The Parka

Parkas are as close as they come to rain coats. In fact, they are better and are more good-looking. Now it’s all about choosing the right one for your weather and climate.

You can never go wrong with oversized, fur-trimmed hoods like the ones on The Black Feather and TheOnlyFashionPrincess ). We also noticed that the olive or dark green parkas are quite popular picks. They’re surprisingly easy to match and style with. I guess you can say green is the new black, where parkas are concerned. The Steve Madden parka we found is not green but its dark color is just as versatile.

3) The Cape

Capes. Don’t get turned off by the shape, capes are your new best friend when it comes to outerwear!

Match them with skinny jeans or leggings to balance out their roominess, like what Ari_Ari and Stamatinahasiotis has done. Capes also now come in all colors and patterns that are tempting to collect! We found an equally enchanting cape by Pink Martini at ModCloth.

Bethany Mota showing us ‘Rainy Day Outfit Ideas’ in her video blog

I picked up more than a couple of things in that video, like how summer dresses are totally wearable during the rainy season, and that H&M makes these awesome patent Doc Martens-inspired boots.

She put a total of 4 outfits together with items mostly from Forever21 and H&M. Here are some things I thought were cute in the outfits. I won’t go into too much detail since Bethany explains her styling decisions pretty well and you can go watch her video below!

Outfit 1: Cozy Color featured a bright blue dress from Urban Outfitters but the highlights were the colorful arm warmers from Nordstrom, the Aldo riding boots, and that white cable knit sweater which has elbow patches! Some people find that weird but I love elbow patches because they give that vintage touch to a jacket.

Outfit 2: Simple & Chic is amazing for the bright pink hat from Forever21 and the H&M boots I previously mentioned.

Highlights for Outfit 3: Puddle Splashing include the cute multicolored skirt from Forever21 and the blue green boots from Hunter which we have featured at least once here in Cute Raincoats.

Lastly, Outfit 4: Shopping In the Rain, is my personal favorite because of the hoodie/sweater vest and the black, chunky knit scarf.

Zuma Rossdale looks super in his Batman raincoat

Patterned after the early Batman costume, the rain coat comes with its own blue cape and hood. Zuma wore it with a blue pair of Adidas jogging pants and the cutest red plaid high tops. And don’t forget the Batman backpack! So cute! And I bet he was feeling like the real deal too, being in the mood to wave at the paparazzi like that!

DSQUARED2 Oriana Coat, $891

The olive green jacket is made of coated poplin and looks, at first glance, a simple parka. Practicality-wise, it could be any purchase from The North Face, with its oversize, zip-off hood and drawcord waist. Style-wise though, it is the DSQUARED2′s flair for edge.

The Oriana’s contrast fold-over collar lends some military inspiration with its antiqued gold star studs. It’s a nice hard contrast to its bold orange striped grosgrain hem with leather cords.

I think it’s a nice investment as a raincoat because it can do a wide range of looks, for a variety of weather conditions. And I especially like how spiffing it looks with pair of textured ankle booties. Shopbop creates a nice country look with it, with DSQUARED2′s collared shirt and skinny denims.
